From Vision to Reality: A School That Will Change Lives
For years, Girls Arise Uganda founder Sandra Abbo dreamed of creating a permanent space where education, support, and dignity could come together. That dream is now taking shape in brick and mortar. Set to open in February 2026, the Girls Arise Uganda school represents the next chapter in the organization’s mission—offering a safe, consistent, and empowering place to learn for hundreds of students in Nyenga and surrounding areas.
Creating Access. Changing Futures
This school will provide year-round education to hundreds of students—especially girls who often face the greatest barriers to staying in school. For many, this will be the first time they can attend classes consistently, with access to support systems that address not only academic needs, but also period poverty and the stigma that too often causes girls to drop out. While the school will welcome all students, it’s the girls who will see the greatest shift—no longer left behind, but fully part of the future.

This School Will Change Lives
With permanent classrooms and year-round instruction, students will finally have consistent access to quality education. No more gaps, no more uncertainty—just the stability to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. For many, this school will be the turning point that opens the door to a brighter future.

More Than Just a Building
This school stands for dignity, confidence, and progress. By addressing barriers like period poverty and lack of access, it empowers young people—especially girls—to stay in school and thrive. It’s not just about education; it’s about restoring the belief that they belong in every classroom, every day.

Impact on the Community
This school brings more than education—it brings lasting opportunity. It will create local jobs, encourage family involvement, and offer a space for connection, growth, and community pride. It’s a sign of hope and progress, built to serve the needs of the community now and for generations to come.
Opening Doors to a Brighter Future
This school is more than a project—it’s a promise. A promise that children in Nyenga will have a place to learn, grow, and build a better life. That girls will have the chance to stay in school with dignity. That a community’s future can be rewritten through education. As we look ahead to the opening in February 2026, we carry with us the belief that hope is strongest when it's shared—and that the power of change begins with a single open door. You can be part of that change.
