Breaking Ground and Building Foundations

Breaking ground on the Girls Arise Uganda school was a defining moment in a journey that began with a simple, powerful dream. For Sandra Abbo, this was more than the start of construction—it was the beginning of something deeply meaningful. On a quiet stretch of land in Nyenga, what had once been just drawings and ideas began to take physical form.

As the earth was turned, the vision of a school built for dignity, equality, and opportunity finally began to rise. This land, once empty, now holds the promise of classrooms, hallways, and hope. The laying of the foundation marked not only structural progress but emotional and symbolic progress, too. It represented strength, perseverance, and the unwavering belief that education should be accessible—even in the most overlooked places.

These early stages of construction have been driven by faith, grit, and the generosity of donors who believed in the vision before a single brick was laid. Stone by stone, the base of the building now stands—strong, steady, and full of promise. This foundation is just the beginning of a future where students in this rural Ugandan community will walk into a space built for them, where they will be seen, supported, and given the chance to thrive.

But there is still work ahead. Classrooms must be completed. Furnishings and supplies must be secured. Every contribution—no matter how small—helps move us one step closer to opening the doors in 2026.

If you believe in giving children access to education, safety, and opportunity, we invite you to be part of this journey. Help us complete this school and create a lasting impact. Make a donation today.
